This room is a space for dreaming, yet simultaneously a deeply realistic space—the artist’s studio.
It is a place where inspirations of the mind take shape and suddenly emerge, hanging on the walls and being placed on the floor.
For this exhibition, I brought the actual sofa I use in my studio, and the head sculpture sitting upon it symbolizes myself, the artist in deep contemplation.
Double Room draws inspiration from "La Chambre double," a prose poem by French poet Charles Baudelaire. This room is a place where the spiritual inner world of the dreaming artist and the real reality of the artist's living space are layered together. It is a space where illusion and reality coexist without pushing each other out—that is precisely what my studio is.
